Foreword from the President

Welcome to the Association for Behaviour Analysis (Singapore).

Our association was founded with a simple yet powerful purpose: to bring together people who believe in using the science of behaviour to create meaningful and lasting change. Whether you are a practitioner, educator, researcher, student, or family member, you are part of a growing community that values compassion, collaboration, and evidence-based practice.

At ABAS, we believe that ethical practice is not just a professional duty but a shared responsibility. Every decision we make, every program we design, and every learner we support reflects our commitment to dignity, respect, and scientific integrity. By upholding these values, we ensure that behaviour analysis continues to make a positive difference in the lives of those we serve.

We are also passionate about learning and growth. Through ongoing professional development, mentorship, and collaboration, ABAS aims to nurture a community where practitioners can share knowledge, support one another, and stay connected to the latest research and best practices. We believe that the strength of our field lies in our collective pursuit of excellence, not as individuals working in isolation, but as a united network of professionals dedicated to continuous improvement.

Beyond professional practice, ABAS hopes to be a bridge between science and society. We want more people to understand what behaviour analysis truly is, a science rooted in empathy and designed to help people learn, communicate, and thrive. By raising awareness and engaging with schools, organisations, and families, we strive to make ABA accessible, transparent, and understood in its truest form.

As president, I am deeply grateful for everyone who has contributed to this growing movement, our members, partners, and the many individuals who believe in the potential of behavioural science to transform lives. Together, we are not just advancing a profession, we are building a community grounded in integrity, knowledge, and care.

Thank you for being part of our journey, and welcome to ABAS.
